The victory we have in Christ can be felt in our everyday life. We can overcome depression. We can overcome fear. We can be confident. We can be free from worry. We can be free from anxiety. We can have emotional healing. We can have hope. We can be set free from our past. The Bible declares the goodness of God. The Bible is more than Christian psychology it is truth. The truth of God brings mental health, spiritual health and physical health. We can walk in peace. We can overcome the traumas of life.

I'm your host, Dennis Dobbin, and I'm here to help you stop struggling by standing on the truth of who you are. Give a listen. Many, many years ago in my youth, I had the unfortunate mishap of sitting on my wire rim glasses that I had left on my bed. They were bent beyond repair. So my mom took me out to get a new pair of glasses. When we got home and I had the new glasses, my stepfather, with whom let's say I had challenges, was displeased that my mom bailed me out. He was focused on blaming me for breaking my glasses. I can't remember exactly how he said it, but it was one of his go-to phrases, you can't win them all. I went upstairs to my room and sat on my bed, almost in tears. I don't mean to paint a terrible picture of my stepfather, but he did have a very negative attitude. And as I sat there on my bed, I began to accept the blame of accidentally sitting on my glasses. And in my heart, I uttered his confession. I guess you can't win them all. Fortunately, the Spirit of God rose up within me within a moment or two, and I stopped and I said, Hold on. The word says I'm more than a conqueror. And I reversed my confession. Though I may not win them all, I can. I am victorious in Christ. The world has lived with the word can't for far too long. The world tells us we are victims. The world tells us we are losers. The world tells us a lot of lies. The challenge we have is whether we will struggle with the lies or stand on the truth. I've been reading the Bible for a good fifty-four years now. Yeah, I'm an old guy. And in that time, though, I may have strayed for a short period of time, but I have never walked away from God or my Lord Jesus. Seriously distracted? Yes. Denying the faith in the name of Jesus? Never. I have experienced many attacks against my faith. I've had some very serious situations that have tried to drown me, so to speak. But fortunately, in all of that, I have remembered God's faithfulness to his promises. I have had hours of doubt, and I've had a few days of doubt. I've had some fears, but by the grace of God, he has always come to my aid and to my side to bring me back to him. My heavenly Father has never abandoned me. He has been faithful to his promise to never leave nor forsake me. He truly is my helper. Jesus is my Savior and continues in that position. As with everybody, I'm still learning to make him Lord in every single thought and action. We have a sneaky enemy that is unfortunately good at deceiving us, but we have a heavenly Father who is for us, not against us. We have a Lord and Savior who's making intercession for us right now. They are on our side so that we can be standing, not struggling. It's apparent as I approach the door of my home, there's no place in me for fear, phobia, or syndrome. This is my home. There's no need for me to knock, for with the key in my hand, the door I can unlock. We must know the truth and believe the promises of God's Word. We must be careful what we listen to and assess what we've heard. It's a moment by moment decision to believe the truth and not lies. We must walk by faith and not by what we see with our eyes. The challenge is to stand strong in the moments of our fear, not listening to the lies the enemy whispers in our ear. We must become deaf to the accusations they shoot our way, standing on our true identity in Christ, never distray. Am I a victim or victor in the battles of life, defeated by fear or victorious in the strife? I will stand against the struggles, believing what is true, believing the promise that in Christ I've been made new. Our past failures tend to haunt us and tell us we will fail again. We accept the identity of a failure. We accept the identity of being weak. We accept the identity of a victim. But those are lies. It's not a matter of a perfect performance. It's the performance of Jesus that makes us who we are. Yet will we stand in the truth that we are more than conquerors? Romans chapter 8, verse 39. Nay, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. We're more than conquerors through Christ, not through our great strength. It's the simplicity of our faith in Jesus. This verse could have ended at through him, through Christ, but it goes on to give us an element of our identity. We are those who are loved by Jesus. To be reminded that He loves me definitely gives me greater strength in my faith to believe this promise. The next time your accuser accuses you, remember this great truth and tell it to your enemy. Speak it out loud. I am loved by Jesus, and through him I'm more than a conqueror. I began my poem with the image of walking up to my house to unlock the door and enter. Why would we be afraid to access our own house? We know it's our house. There should be no fear. The promises of God have been given to us. They belong to us. Why should we be afraid of claiming the promises that God has freely given to us? Romans chapter eight, verses thirty-one and thirty two. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? God has freely given us all things. Are you claiming the power and authority that you have in Christ? Or are you settling for the things of the world? Joshua chapter one verse eight from the Rotherham Emphasized Bible. This scroll of the law must not cease out of thy mouth, but thou must talk to thyself therein day and night, that thou mayest take heed to do according to all that is written therein, for then shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and then shalt thou have good success. Are we speaking the word to ourselves day and night? Or are we rehearsing the lies that the enemy told us and convinced us are ours? Are we letting the whispers of our enemy haunt us, or are we boldly proclaiming the truth of who we are and then having prosperity and good success? The more we speak the promises of God's word to ourselves, the more our faith will be built up. Remember what Romans chapter 10, verse 17 says? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Faith is that which gives us the ability to receive the promises of God into our lives. By hearing the word of God, our faith increases. We need to rehearse the word of God, the promises of God to ourselves over and over again so that we believe them. How many of us have heard of a great product over and over again? We've heard how great it is, and finally we break down and decide to buy it. The power of advertising is amazing. That's why in 2025 the global advertising industry earned over 800 billion dollars. If we don't know about it, we can't buy it. Unfortunately, the devil is very good at selling us a lot of junk, a lot of lies. And unfortunately, we sometimes buy it. And now with AI trickery, people are getting duped into buying a lot of junks in the physical realm. But we have more than artificial intelligence. We have spiritual intelligence. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. The Holy Spirit teaches us, the Holy Spirit gives us spiritual intelligence. It's not artificial, and there's no high fructose corn syrup added either. Yet the word of God is sweeter than honey, and it's good for you. So instead of listening to the advertising of our enemy that tempts us with sugar-coated lies, we need to listen to what the Holy Spirit is speaking to us. And we need to agree with what the Holy Spirit is speaking and what the Holy Spirit has spoken, the Word of God. We need to stand on the truth of who we are. We face a number of different challenges. One challenge is falling short of walking with God. It's also known as sin. Another challenge is when things don't turn out the way we like them, or when things turn out tragically due to our decision or somebody attacking us. All these things can leave a trauma in our heart. Let's first deal with the challenge of falling short. Romans chapter 6, verse 11. Likewise, reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Chapter 6 begins with the declaration that we are dead to sin. We need to realize that because we've died in Christ, we are no longer under the power of sin. We have been set free from sin and now can live unto God instead of living unto ourselves and our enemy. Romans chapter 6, verse 14. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you're not under the law, but under grace. The unfortunate thing is that sin is somewhat of a bully. It will continue to try and harass us if we let it happen. We have been forgiven, and there is no payment due on our transgressions. When sin knocks at your door trying to collect, tell it that Jesus paid your debt. You are now free. Ephesians chapter 1, verse 7. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. We have redemption through his blood, through his sacrifice. This verse relates redemption to the forgiveness of sins. Redemption is a setting free or a paying of a ransom for release. We have been released from sin and its consequences. It's time to come out of the prison of condemnation and shame and blame. It's time to claim our true identity as saints of God and not sinners. Though at times we all fall short of obedience and stumble, the blood of Christ still cleanses us. God is looking for faithfulness, not perfect performance. As to the other challenge of things not going the way we wanted or being hurt by others, we must remember that the Father identifies himself as the God of all comfort. We need to remember that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be our comforter. We need to remember that Jesus has given us his peace. We need to remember that Jesus has given us his joy. We need to remember that if we are burdened and heavy laden, if we go to him, we will find rest in him. We need to remember, and we need to declare these promises to ourselves, and we need to declare them when we begin to struggle. Whatever we might be struggling with can be overcome by the promises of God. We need to boldly claim those promises and stand victorious. We need to be standing on the truth, not struggling with lies. Our old nature was crucified with Christ. Now we are a new creation. Repeat that to yourself right now. I am a new creation. Whatever it is that might be your current challenge, you're struggling with, you are more than a conqueror. Say that right now out loud. I am more than a conqueror. If you're getting any pushback, say it again. That pushback is doubt or fear. God has reconciled you to Himself through the sacrifice of Jesus. It's a done deal. We need to believe that. In 1 John chapter 1, it talks about having fellowship with the Father and with Jesus. So who are you hanging out with? Are you hanging out with the corpse of your old nature, or are you hanging out with the Father and Jesus? When you look at a mirror, can you smile? Can you think and speak the word to yourselves? Or do you remember the lies? It's time to stop struggling by claiming your true identity in Christ and stand.
